How do I apply for a DTV visa for myself and my wife in Thailand?

Apr 21, 2025
Looking to apply for DTV visa for me and my wife and I have a couple of questions. šŸ™šŸ½

Do I apply myself and then she would be the sponsor ? We are married legally in America. Or do we need to apply seperately ?

Do I need to have the 500,000 baht in both of our bank accounts when applying ?

Can the 500,000 Baht be proven by crypto ?

I currently have all my money in XRP on an exchange (in my name) and I do not wanna miss this pump to apply. šŸ˜‚

Thank you in advance for any of your responses.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for the DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) for yourself and your wife, you should apply first as the primary applicant. Your wife can then apply as your dependent, providing proof of your marriage (like a marriage certificate) and submitting her own application. Each applicant must submit a separate DTV application. Regarding financial requirements, you need to show a minimum of 500,000 baht in liquid assets; cryptocurrency such as XRP cannot be used to meet this requirement. It's essential to have this amount in your bank account at the time of application.

Btw, good move on the XRP, I think it'll go to $4 easy.

You can't apply with crypto, you'll need liquid assets.

Each applicant must submit a separate DTV application. As a legally married couple, your wife can apply as your dependent. This requires her to provide proof of your marital relationship, such as a marriage certificate.

The financial requirement stipulates that the primary DTV applicant must demonstrate a minimum of 500,000 THB in liquid assets.

No crypto.

both need 500K, in some cases it is also accepted 1000K and sponsor letter. When you look at requirements for the three different types, you will see all three mention the 500K

I didn’t say the opposite. My job is not to tell him they have to do two applications, etc. My answer is correct. I wrote ā€œapplicantā€ and not ā€œapplicantsā€.

You said "primary applicant needs 500K" which might suggest the dependant applicant does not need 500K, I did not say your answer is not correct, it just might need some extra clarification.

Sure there is no obligation to give complete answers, but being rude to people who try to complete your answers is just not done.

I indeed have no idea about what you know, and I am not honestly interested in what you know.

If your answer is not coming from yourself it makes it even more ridiculous to post here as an incomplete answer.

I never claimed I am an expert or immigration lawyer, why should I.

Your comple answer is simly WRONG now, it is absolutely impossible to submit both applications at the same time, because on the dependant application you have to show proof of the DTV of the primary applicant, which you simply do not have until that one is approved.

But by now I know you are a very despicable and arrogant person.

It can not be proven by crypto unfortunately. Regardless of where applying from. Sorry.

Whether or not both will need 500k, or if one will need 1m baht, will depend on where you’re applying from also, due to different embassies having different rules on that.

You, first, then she once you are approved. Not for fun it is called dependent visa

My wife also submitted her own bank statement but it is also possible to issue a sponsorship letter as well
