keep in mind insurance is not like back home they’ll do their best not to cover you and try to make it seem like it’s your fault. Foked around n found out
I take out 20-25k each time from Schwab(sometimes multiple times/mo) then deposit the cash(atm with cdm) into my Bangkok Bank account all via ATM machine. The fees will be refunded at the end of the month.
Capital one/Discover is paying 4-6% on their savings account so I keep my money there. I’m not sure what the rates are now.
Schwab charges $15/ wire transfer no matter what the amount so if I want to transfer large amount ie condo purchase/visa renewal I’ll go this route.
very strong I saw with my own 2 eyes. I had to deal with embassy, CW and agency. It’s like I was being played by all 3 as at the end of the day, it benefits all of them. Had I known what I know now, I may not have sold all my belongings.
Ken have you tried recently? We tried on our own and we were basically given the runaround. Hint we got is to hire an agent(VISWICS) as I got tired of bouncing. Now I am not sure why I was chosen to be given a difficult time as I’m sure this is not the every case but I could not do it on our own. It got done with an agent immediately but they were telling us this and that each time, I got tired of the hassle. Just my own recent case. It seems they’re out for money right now as I witnessed exchanging of money right in front of me but what do I care it got done finally
I believe you can stay in Thailand for up to 8 or 9 months via land/air border bounces etc. it seems like this would be a better route for you without having to tie up 800,000 THB and having to hire an agent.
