Late night airport taxi.

(I have this problem all the time.)

We booked taxi from Bangkok city center to airport at 4am, but i am worried if he actually arrive in time.

So in any case of emergency:

1. Do Grabs works well in midnight?

2. Any popular taxi company that work all night and is reliable and that i can call to in such case?

Some airlines will hold the flight if your late up to 2 hours, just call and maje sure you tell them you are from Australia.

I always book into an airport hotel the night before my flight as you never know what might cause a delay and you miss your flight. There are several airport hotels with shuttle service for as little as 800bts a night some so close that at a push you could walk but millions of taxis hovering about. Piece of mind it’s worth every penny

City center BKK at a main road you can still hail a taxi cruising looking for passengers as a back-up plan if your booked taxi doesn't show up.

Just allow some extra time to be sure.

I have never even booked a taxi and always used a random taxi passing by for my middle in the night flights.

Grab has worked great for me however I do recommend posting a reservation ahead of time. That way the system is at least a bit prepared for you as opposed to deciding at the spur of the moment.

penthouse hotel used to do that but it closed down during covid. Ask on a pattaya forum sure it still happens

City center to bkk should be no problem. In case of emergency, there are tuk tuk or you can walk to any hotels and ask them to call you a taxi as well

might try, Grab takes a big % of fare.

In- driver and the other are cheaper, although same driver.

Driver's respond to all, grab has better GPS, but driver loses baht to them

actually I started doing this my last four trips… Instead of waking up in Citi center or down by the river freaking out about a 7 AM flight, etc. I get a hotel near the airport with a free shuttle in morning

Much better than all the anxiety of travelling from the city. In most Western cities, those airports hotels are a swingeing premium price. But BKK has room available with a shuttle, for 1,000 baht or less. And if you wanted, you can use the Skytain to get out there the evening before
