I have gone through getting my American citizenship and have seen my colleagues getting their Thai , I have to tell you this ; mine was sooooooooo much easier.

Thai is among country that hard to get , referring to the Korean coach Choi Young-seok. Google his name if you like .

Out of the curiosity; what was the reason you’ve done that n Udonthani at the first place? As of the other’s answers; your first must be in person. I’ve done it myself; yes. I am a Thai but need to do this as the consequences of entering the country with a foreigner’s passport when my Thai’s expired. Long stories but oh well.

BTW; Udonthani is a lovely city, I love my home town.

There are many Thai shipping companies in The USA, I’m pretty sure they service to your region as well.

Thai passport is among the “weak” when it comes to visas granted. The reasons; you know, most people know; visas abused is the main one. Thais apply for visitors visa once granted and entered the country they just got off and go working low wage jobs that is illegal, there’s we go. Couple ill intentions made the whole country look bad. I never have problem though.

Search ; Powerful passports , read the articles.

Tourists visa and spousal visa is different categories

read my comment below . In my opinion, it’s not that hard but you need to know what qualities the government is considering.

It’s depends, in my case it was easy. Not Aus but America and I think it’s similar.

Before granted citizenship I have gone through applying for visitor visas to The USA. (For separate purposes/occasions)

-I was not employed at the time but my family managed and maintained the good balance of financial as they always do for all of the children. Stable income, good bank account records, no debt and so on.

- I have every intention to return home as I was a primary caretaker for my parents and I was the “head of the household “ who managed the family business as well as day to day lives.

-I have properties in my name, fully paid for, all of it.

- I have travelled outside the country, many trips and always return, never abused visas.

My daughter was in the same situation with exact same numbers of days conflicted. Whilst still in BKK she and I returned to the immigration office at the airport and got this answer . Several days (no greater than 3) overstayed with prove of returning tickets is allowed without any consequence. That was 5 years ago that we did it. Her passport is American’s.
