So long as you’re there for less than 6 months total in any one year it’s fine, you’re not doing anything wrong. It’s about how long over all you’re there for, not how many times.

What others are referring to is those just doing a border run and trying to live in Thailand full time on renewing 60-90 day visa exempt stays.

The DTV would tick every box and your family would get visas as your dependents. Educational visa is an option if you don’t have the funds in situ to show for a DTV but it’s more faff and an agent can do a work around for that for you anyway to still get the DTV.
