It’s easier than you think if she’s still relatively young. It’s good to do it ASAP so to give her that extra option in life. If your wife’s Thai documents are all up to date then it should be fairly straightforward. Please do some research and inquire with the Thai consulate/embassy in London as soon as you can. Good luck.

we currently have health coverage in the US and when we travel we always get travel insurance. Are you suggesting we buy health coverage for Thailand now to lock in the rates or something else? Thanks.

wow, this is very informative and thank you for the advice and heads up.  we actually have just returned from Thailand, and our marriage certificate has been fully authenticated by the MFA. However, the document was for a separate venture that we had to do there. Upon our return to the States, we realized that we could’ve done the marriage registration as well using the same MFA approved and translated marriage certificate. SMH.
