Yes, but those are not called extensions. I think you are misunderstanding what is meant by an extension. An extension is done only at immigration after 180 days and you DON'T want to leave. You can go to your immigration and get 180 days extension to equal 360 days of stay in Thailand in total. Then you will have to leave and come back and get a new 180 day stay. Of course you can leave before the first 180 days, come back and get another 180 but that is not an extension, that's just an entry. Its a multi entry visa so you can come and go as many times as you want as long as you don't stay longer than 180 without either leaving or getting an extension at immigration.

Yes I know that's correct, I just worded it wrong. If you extend once after entering it will give you a total of 360 days in Thailand but not specific to a calendar year.

after 180 days if you want to extend. Or just leave the country and re-enter for free. Its a multi entry day but you have to leave before 180 days or get an extension

No, this is incorrect info. If you DON'T want to leave Thailand after 180 days you must get an extension at your local immigration office. This will come with a charge. The other option is to leave prior to 180 days and get a new 180 day stamp. The extension at immigration is to get 180 + 180 without leaving. You can extend only 1 time year.

ok you seem to know it all, replying is futile and not making any progress on this issue. Report or don't report - I don't care lol. I will be reporting because as I see the immigration act, I have to report. You do you.

I never disputed it. What I'm saying is that those are not temporary stay permits. The DTV is which is why it falls under the immigration act.

The embassy / consulate is never going to tell you about doing 90 day reporting as this is from a separate entity : immigration. When you get a visa, you don't get told by someone to do 90 day reporting if you stay 90 days or more because not everyone stays 90 days. Its just knowledge that you need to be aware of. I learned about it from my landlord because as soon as I rented she had to do a TM30 for the reporting. I agree that it would be nice to be told but not being told or claiming ignorance of the rule is not an excuse for not abiding by it.

Maybe its like getting a driving license and saying "well no one told me I couldn't drive through a stop light" lol, maybe a bad analogy but kinda similar.

read the law. It states this "The Immigration Act,B.E.2522,the foreigner who has received a temporary stay permit and stayed in the Kingdom of Thailand over 90 days must notify his/her residence to immigration officer every 90 days.". So, I don't know BOI and LTR - but they might not be considered temporary stay permits, but the DTV most definitely is a temporary stay permit since its a 180 day permit. Assume you need to do reporting because of this.
