TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the necessity of 90-day check-ins for holders of the DTV visa in Thailand. It confirms that all foreigners, including DTV visa holders, must report to immigration if staying consecutively for 90 days. Suggestions on how to avoid this requirement, such as leaving the country before reaching 90 days, are also mentioned. Ultimately, it's emphasized that it is the responsibility of visa holders to be aware of and comply with immigration laws regardless of the visa type.

as every foreigner on every existing visa has a 90 day report why would it be any different on a DTV?

because you can only stay 180 days, might be one rationale. But it looks like they want it.

If you stay 90 consecutive days you must report. The best way around this is to leave on day 89 😏

I really do not see why 90 day reporting is an issue? It takes less than 20 minutes and after first time online for the majority of people works.

it can be an issue if you're nowhere near an immigration office. I've never got the on-line check-in to work.

let's wait and see what the new government does with the DTV. New government ministers new ideas

That is why I tell people if you want one get it now. Do not wait as Thailand loves a u-turn and even more so if a politician does not like the policy of a rival.

They don’t explain the requirements when emailing you the visa? Seems like a very hands-off Visa to require the management of check-in’s by the Thai’s…IMHO

90 day reporting is under immigration. Your visa is issued by the consulate. They don’t need to tell you the law. It’s up to you to find out the law. It’s required if you stay more than 90 days
