HCMC Embassy:

DTV visa granted (Digital Nomad category)

*Please note that this embassy has no more online appointments and I have been told they are moving to Evisa in October, but...

This was such an incredibly easy process.

I submitted:

-Application form filled in with photo attached (to save time, have it stuck on already)

-6 months bank statements showing more than 500,000 Baht

-Cover letter introducing how I make money online (I have an online teaching brand and sell digital courses / consulting)

-Resume

-Screenshots of website, YT channel and digital offers.

-Stripe transitions for August/ Sept 2024

-2 Invoices from clients

-Lease in Bangkok

-HCMC airbnb booking

-$340 (exact change)

They took everything, so not sure if I over-submitted or not.

The only hiccup was the USD cash. I had "new" notes but they weren't new enough. I had to take a grab bike to their recommended exchange shop where they easily switched my USD for newer bills for a charge of about 100k Dong for Each $100. If in doubt, just go to the exchange place and double check. The guy who helped me knew exactly what I needed and could tell which bills would be accepted or not.

The turnaround was exactly 2 days and I spent less than 30 minutes there to submit and less than 1 minute to pick up.

Good luck to everyone! This visa is definitely too good to be true, so a good idea to get it if/before anything changes.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shares their experience of obtaining a Digital Nomad visa at the HCMC Embassy, detailing the required documents, the smooth application process, and the importance of having acceptable USD cash notes. They submitted various items including bank statements, cover letter, resume, and proofs of income. Despite the initial hurdle with cash, they were able to get their visa processed in two days without issues. The trend indicates a move towards Evisa applications, and they warn others about the lack of appointments recently.

They had appointments on Oct 2- 4 up to about a few days ago. I booked mine about 2 weeks ago, there were plenty of appointments. Now, they are moving to Evisa in October so I think the last day for appointments was the 4th. Now they say it will take up to 30 days to get approved.
