*IMPORTANT* Info from HCMC Embassy.

I emailed the HCMC embassy with some questions.

They emailed me back with some very important info regarding the processing time.

If you apply before Oct, it will take 2 business days.

If you apply after Oct, it seems it can take 30 days.

They are implementing a new E-visa system from Oct.

Glad I emailed.

I've heard they are good too. I'd rather have a few days in HCMC to be honest and I'm going in a couple of weeks.

Did you ask them if they still accept a scan of the visa stamp as proof of location? Must be possible otherwise no one besides people who actually live in Vietnam permanently could apply.

I find it interesting that this should be seen as an advancement yet they say it will take 30 days to process through the evisa and 2 days in person...baffling.

SOME consulates on the eVisa system state on their website 4 to 6 week processing time (Thai consulate in Paris for instance)
