See answer above. I've stayed 20+ years in Thailand; it has cost me 50% of my State Pension. I've earned the right to complain after spending millions of baht here. I've never used an agent, you're obviously uncaring about finances. I've got Visas for friends/wives/girlfriends/ for UK; USA; EU so I can find my way through Thailand's deliberately over-complicated procedures.
Unless you are in Spain on a slow Internet connection aged 83. It took me two hours of frustration as it refused to accept my Thai telephone number. Eventually I made one up & went forward which shows what a waste of time/resources TDAC is.
It's a stupid rule. I've lived full-time here for over 20 years. I usually do the 90 day report on line BUT if I dare go away on holiday, I have to do it in person which means re-submitting copies of multiple documents; all of which they have had a hundred times already, the data of which has not varied in decades. Now TDAC is yet another chore which is doing wonders for Vietnam's tourism figures. I have a year long visa AND a multiple re-entry permit yet I have to drive in person to an Immigration office; search and pay for a parking space to give in my details again which are already on a central computer in the office.
It took me 2 hours on a phone in Spain with a slow Internet connection. It's an unnecessary extra bother which is doing wonders for Vietnam's tourist numbers. It would not accept my Thai telephone number despite me living here full time for 20 years & having a year's visa with multiple re-entry permit. Eventually I made one up which was accepted showing what an unnecessary waste of time and resources it is.
I don't know how to make this clearer. I can't think you are this thick as you express yourself correctly if at times colourfully. I am the father. I have lived full time here for 22 years. During this time I have had many visitors - friends/relatives. If I am having a bad time with Thai banks or Immigration, I might discuss it with them. They will go away with a negative view of all things Thai. This may influence future decisions about holidays or where they themselves might want to retire to. Tourists are potential retirees.
