Do you need to show 500,000 THB during reentry after a 6-month trip on a DTV visa in Thailand?

Hi everyone question for those here on a DTV… I was just told that when you leave out of the country for your 6month trip to exit that when reentry comes about they ask you to show your 500,000tbh again someway before they let you enter back in. Anyone that has already did their 6 month reentry could give some insight that would be awesome. I’m prolly will have it in there but that seems outrageous to ask to see my bank account or bank statement on the spot or is that normal ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses concerns about whether travelers on a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) are required to show proof of 500,000 THB when re-entering Thailand. Several commenters noted that in their multiple re-entries, they have never been asked for this information, suggesting that it might depend on the immigration officer. Some individuals shared anecdotal evidence of people being asked for proof but emphasized that it isn't a common occurrence. The overall sentiment indicates that while it's a requirement on paper, it may not be strictly enforced during re-entry.

10 entries on DTV - no questions

Why not simply read all the earlier post about it, instead of asking the samme questions again and again.

Depends on IO but if you dont have atleast 500k in a bank acct can you really afford to live abroad?
David *******
Immigration has the right to request any proof of substantiating visa entry (any visa) but I haven't heard or read anything that suggests DTV holders have been asked. However, always keep in mind that you might just strike a grumpy IO, so I'd just show it on my banking app, I wouldn't consider carrying documents

I would have thought that with a multiple re-entry visa and the annual 'retirement' visa there would be no need for the unnecessary TDAC - the gift that keeps on giving to Vietnam's tourism figures.

The TDAC takes two minutes, are you really that silly to believe it's sending people to Vietnam? Excuse me whilst I ROFL

If you're 82 on a slow wi-fi connection in Spain, it takes over an hour with many false starts on a tiny phone screen including my Thai phone number. Eventually I made one up so that's how useless & pointless the DTAC is. The DTAC is not sending tourists to Vietnam but they are discovering how easy everything is there. Whilst Thai tourism is languishing, Vietnam's is soaring. People will go back so Thailand loses out this time on the very lucrative ex-pat market. I am an ex-pat & have lived here fulltime for 20+ years. I have never used an agent & always get the Visa I apply for: Schengen/UK so I am familiar with Thai shortcomings. It is exactly the wrong time to introduce TDAC.
