I was just asking out of curiosity, you seem to know the ins and outs of immigration. It would moreso apply to flights that may be submitted on the application, especially the outbound flight if you plan to stay longer. Do you think I'm ok doing the application for the METV approx 3 weeks before traveling or is that cutting it too close?
Do u think they check the accommodations when they process it? Like if you got a hotel (or flight) and cancel within the 24 hr window, you would get caught? Just wondering, I wouldn't think they would have time to check them all, or are they really strict about it?
Good luck with the OA visa. WAY too many hoops to jump through. I gave up. Now looking into the METV and if I decide to stay in Thailand longterm, will switch to the retirement visa. Also keep an eye out for the DTV new category that is supposed to be implented soon. 🤞
yeah, I'm leaning to just getting a METV. If it does go into effect, what would be the difference between the SETV and the 60 fay exemption? Or would it be basically the same? Would they both have potential to lead to a retirement visa once in Thailand if I chose to go that route?
I meant so much for the hope of it being June 1. And was referring to the poster that mentioned the new program, not that they confirmed it would start June 1. I was hoping there would ha e at least been some more details released though.
it's funny, when it was first announced, a lot of people were giddy about it (me too), but all the seasoned vets were skeptical, trying to calm people down and tell them not jump the gun and to wait until it's in the the Gazette. Now I see what they mean. Lesson learned!
