 I was not commenting on doing this versus that. I was just saying that if you chose that route that is I agree more difficult then you would need to keep the 500k in an account.

 when applying for an extension within Thailand, they require the proof of funds, so i would recommend keeping the money in the account if one wishes to extend their visa another 6months without doing a border run. And it is at each other discretion to make that decision.

 not maybe, do a search here and you will see that it happened. He asked if it is mandatory. It is not mandatory but requested in some situations. This is what he has asked so better to tell him to be prepared to answer those requests.

Anonymous participant 263 that has nothing to do with the DTV, the officer reaction was based on the conflict with Cambodge and I do not see any issues with this. If you are at war with a country where somebody come from, it is perfectly normal that there is increased scrutinity.

 He is just making an assumption. Soft power is getting hit harder and you can't deny this even in visa approval, not body knows the reason but we can make assumptions.
