Regarding DTV visa for Digital Nomad. I am currently applying and I was wondering if the bank statement is required to show a proof of income based on the employment contract provided ? This remote work contract is new and my current bank statement would not show it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation outlines the requirements for applying for a DTV (Digital Nomad) visa in Thailand, specifically regarding proof of income and necessary documentation. A bank statement is generally required to prove financial stability, regardless of the employment contract. Applicants must apply from outside Thailand, and it is advised to contact the relevant embassy for specific requirements. An employment letter confirming remote work and its address to the Thai embassy is also essential. Applicants share personal experiences, indicating that an employment letter and bank statement are crucial for the application.

I got a DTV from London Embassy. I am an employee of a company in Ireland and get paid monthly by them. I showed the 500k proof in one bank account that doesn't show my monthly wages. So I reckon you'll be fine. Have an up-to-date bank statement, not one a few months old. Employment letter needs to say Required to Work Remotely and be addressed to Thai Embassy.

will they not accept employment letter without Thai embassy address?

I’m in same situation as you - applying from London / job in N Ireland

I initially sent copy of contract, which I got AI to do 555. They then came back looking for an employment letter signed by a Director or HR person, addressed to the Embassy, saying what my job was, length of service, and That I was required to work remotely. That letter + up to date bank statement was additional info they came back looking for. Once I uploaded those I got the DTV the next day.

I used tax credit certificate from Revenue Commissioners (HMRC in d UK). You could use bank statement or Council Tax letter as proof of address I reckon.

fantastic thanks for your help. I was just about to upload the employment letter today without the address. The rest I have, although the letter just says I’m permitted to work remotely, not required.

When they require extra documents, I’m assuming you don’t lose your visa fee?

The 500k requirement is regardless of your income so it doesn't matter if you started a new job

Ok. So that's an issue. Maybe a contract will be enough. Ask the embassy where you intend to apply

money is not an issue. The issue is that I do not have a proof of income for this contract yet.

You cannot be in thailand while applying for an e-visa of any type... It literally tells you on the e-visa website that you must be in the country you are applying from.

As for the information you need, you need to contact the embassy.

You can't apply for a DTV from inside Thailand. You need to travel to the country you want to apply from before starting your application

you cannot apply from here. Absolutely a bank statement is required. Apply from a evisa site external to Thailand. Each embassy has their own rules

I know that the bank statement is required. Just wondering if the bank statement needs to show the income from the company you have a contract with ?

Taipei insists on bank statements detailing income. Other SEA embassies less strict with that. You apply online within a country outside of Thailand. You need to upload your passport stamp of entry with hotel as part of your application.

I can not find this information. Only that a statement is required. Do you have to leave Thailand to apply online ? Or can you apply online and then leave the country to reenter ?
