Vocabulary and semantics. It should be considered important that those “in the know” use the correct terminology. Visa v. Extension; Multiple Entry Stamp v. Re-Entry Permit; Tourist Visa v. VOR v. Visa Exempt, etc.

Based upon my experience, visas are not renewable. One must apply for an extension of stay or obtain a new visa.

It is easier to tell my friends in the US that I have a retirement visa instead of boring them with “I have a 90 day Non-Immigrant O visa based upon marriage to a Thai National that I obtained from the Thai Embassy in DC. I have applied for and granted extensions of stay three consecutive years from Thai Immigration.But I don’t have a retirement visa.”

 A multi entry is a stamp you get in your passport when you have a retirement visa. The cost is 3800 THB and is valid as long a your retirement visa is valid. You can also purchase a single entry which is 1000 THB. Both you purchase at immigration.

 Immigration is always a good place to seek information. I wouldn't be asking a visa agent. They will give you an answer which will make them the most money out of you

 Probably very few retirees in Thailand that have actual retirement visas (O-A or O-X issued outside by embassy or consulate). More likely O visas issued outside or O visas converted from tourist visas or visa exempt entry at Thai immigration then granted extension of stay. Terminology please.

Retirement Non o is 1 year. In that.year you can in-out as much as you want with an extra multiple re-entry (about 3.900 bath)

There is the 10 year pensioner LTR visa that is a multiple entry visa. You have to be over 50. It costs 50,000 baht for 10 years. It requires insurance and a passive income of $80,000/year.

When they expire there is no limit on how many times you can get a new one in your home country.

You can't renew a visa.

You can apply for an extension to visas or existing extensions and each extension is a brand new application that requires everything again.

The only place you can get a multiple entry retirement visa is the non-OA or non-OX visa from your home country.

If you want to apply for an extension in Thailand you can but it's going to require proof of funds plus the insurance requirement from when you obtained the visa in your home country.

 Not at all. With a multiple entry retirement visa you get a new 1 year stamp every time you enter Thailand. With a re-entry permit you never gain additional time.

 it's not indefinite, a visa has an expiration date on it like all visas. But even if you enter Thailand on the last day of the visa you still get stamped in for the full time (1 year for an OA visa). That means you can basically get 2 full years out of the 1 year visa.

 yes, all multiple entry visas give you a brand new stamp for the full duration the visa provides each time you enter the country. A re-entry permit is different, it only keeps the existing stamp alive but doesn't give any additional time.

 or you could get Non-Imm O inside of Thailand and renew every year. Add a multi entry stamp at the same time of extending for an additional 3800 baht. It seems more people are on here to tell you what you are wrong about instead of finding a solution or answer to the question as you word it. 🤦‍♂️

 Elite doesn’t offer anything substantial as you are still in a tourist style visa arrangement just like Non-Imm O. May give you some discounts on food and hotels at the high levels but nothing special to spend the money on in my opinion.

 the only multiple entry retirement visas are the OA and OX both of which have an insurance requirement. The O is not a multiple entry retirement visa which is what the op asked about.

 pull the black and white blinders off for a minute and remove the fact you feel the OP is an expert in Visa language like yourself. He wants to accomplish a retirement option inside Thailand and have the ability to leave and re-enter Thailand. Now he can come here as a tourist like most people do and begin the process for a Non-Imm O with no insurance required. Once he gets his Non-Imm O he can pay the extra 3800 baht and get a multi entry stamp. Just accomplishing the goal without going the path you feel his words restrict him to.

Multi-entry is a separate stamp and separate application with fee. Just allows you in and out of Thailand without voiding your year long Non-Imm O.

There is currently no limit on how many times you renew a Non-Imm O. Each year is a new application. The only difference between the 1st application and follow-along applications is that the full amount of money has to be seasoned in a bank account in your name. After that you can use the 12 month transfers as qualification.
