I've tried 4 branches of TMB all said same thing even after I'd had an account with Bangkok bank for 4 years

Depends on the bank most won't open an account on a tourist visa. TMB won't open an account unless you have a work permit

just being born in Australia doesn't make him Australian. That stopped in the 70s. Having an Australian parent gives you the right to an Australian Passport and citizenship.
