1000 baht is the fine that Consulate gives (or, better, the extra amount they would ask you to pay) if you don't show a ticket reservation/confirmation

Wrong, Robert. They have 30 days for sure. And yes, when they ask to extend, the extension is denied and can get only 7 day extension deny

I was not sure because, for example, also Russians are eligible for 30 day visa exempt stamp BUT they can extend their stay only by 7 days at local Immigration
