TLDR : Answer Summary
The typical processing time for a Non-Immigrant B Visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur is one working day, with collection available the following afternoon. However, it's important to clarify that the Non-B visa itself does not allow employment; it is a necessary step to apply for a work permit, which can lead to an extension of stay. If applying for a work permit, at least some proof of application (e.g., WP3 form) is often required.

If he doesn't have yet a work permit, he can only apply for a single entry non B visa (90 days validity). It doesn't matter which Embassy/Consulate he applies at

He'd definitely need at least that WP3 proof of having applied for a work permit in his documentation when he turns in his application or he's not gonna get ANY visa. It's that way at quite a few consulates.

The only one i know of that will issue a 90 day Non-B without it would be Hong Kong.

Ok, thank you everybody for the helpful replies

Check the websites of the Embassy or Consulate that he likes to visit. Most of them want to see a copy of the work permit or the WP3 (work permit is in application) form.

Ha ok, thank you, then if I understand well, he goes whatever want to apply for a Non Immigrant B, out of Thailand, and go back to Thailand with the NoN immigrant B and apply for a work permit, correct? the work permit is multiple entries?
Robert *******
In the whole region it is all Single Entry. After being 60 days in Thailand he can with additional papers from his employer apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay at local Immigration.

apply and get back next business day — its not a working visa - its non immigrant b - with this visa he cant work - he need it to apply for a work permit.

Where He can apply for the multiple entries?
Dave **********
That depends on the reason for the non-B.

If teaching then a single entry 90-day is what you get. Then you get your WP, then the extension based on the WP, then a multi-entry permit.

.

If business related (without a WP) then I don't know any in the region (not saying there are none but I don't know where to send you).

Single Entry Non B Visa.

Cannot apply for Multiple Entries
