I have done this on an ed visa, when I returned to Thailand I was taken to a little office and an immigration officer asked me a few questions in Thai that were at around the level I should be at given the amount of time spent on an ed visa. I answered in Thai, he smiled and laughed and then sent me straight through the priority lane. You have nothing to worry about if you are legitimate

If you have a Thai dependant then the seasoning rules don't apply, you just need the 400k in your account on the day of application for extension of stay

@Jim ****
they only look at the Thai bank for the 65k but it's not savings and property rental that he's relying on its pension and house rental. UK pension is also frozen at today's rate as soon as he is living in Thailand, so what happens when the 65k the Thais want goes up with inflation? His pension is not. Also with renting any property you will inevitably get void periods with no income and also UK tax to pay on the income from any property rental. Then you have fluctuation in exchange rates UK pound was at 53 baht just a few years ago and only 40 now. Yes he could probably do it today but he's not factoring in the future enough with the calculations that he has explained

You'll need to be careful if your income from UK is around 76k baht/month and you need 65k baht a month then I'd say that's definitely too tight. It wouldnt take too much more of a depreciation in the UK pound to be leaving you short

Justin Lewis do you mean from old to new passport? Just talking from experience in Phuket it took me about 10 minutes, obviously depends on the queue though

Yes of course I read that but just questioning if it's necessary to say that rather than just let people give her the information. She is going there for a visa afterall

It is not a big issue and it's not a complaint, it's more of a suggestion that may benefit people. As an example commenting was turned off today for this post when she was looking for information about getting to the border for a visa and border closing times. I would have thought that is visa related
