My friend is a pilot based from Thailand but currently stuck in Hong Kong and before Covid he came and went on 30 visa exempt stamps. His wife and daughter are in Thailand, wife has guardian visa as daughter is at an international school. Non of them are Thai nationals. 2 questions
1) Could he get an Ed visa in Hong Kong to re-enter Thailand (I think probably not)
2) If he couldn't would it be possible for his wife to transfer her guardian visa to an Ed visa within Thailand so he could then apply for a guardian visa and reenter Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a pilot stuck in Hong Kong seeking options for visa re-entry into Thailand while his family stays there. The two main questions are about acquiring an Ed visa from Hong Kong and the possibility of transferring his wife's guardian visa to an Ed visa in Thailand to facilitate his return.
And to stop the discussion about schools, how strange it may sound but there are school where students happily pay the fees and has to participate in lessons as they love to learn something,
There are much more possibilities to get a Non Immigrant ED visa than the Thai language school,
If the wife is still on a valid Extension of Stay, she can cancel her Extension and then apply with documentation of a school for a new Extension of Stay based on study, After that he can apply for a Non Immigrant O visa based on being dependent,
