Have to leave tomorrow to go back home for a family emergency. I am on a one year extension of stay based on Thai family and it's due for renewal in the next few weeks so I need to go to immigration and submit papers for the renewal tomorrow before leaving. I will get a 30 day under consideration stamp and then have to come back in a month and get the 11 months inked in. Question is can I leave tomorrow after getting the 30 day under consideration stamp with a reentry stamp? I don't have any choice about leaving

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user needs to leave Thailand for a family emergency while on a one-year extension of stay based on Thai family circumstances. They seek to confirm if they can obtain a 30-day under consideration stamp along with a re-entry stamp before their departure, given the urgency of their situation. Comments suggest that it's possible to leave with these stamps, but they should inform immigration about their absence to avoid missing any potential home visits or interviews during the under-consideration period. Additionally, bringing proof of travel plans is recommended.

you definitely need to tell the immigration officer you're getting the extension from that you're not gonna be here in case they want to do a home visit ๐Ÿ˜•

If they go ahead and give you the under consideration stamp and if you get a re-entry permit before you go, you should get back in on that stamp no issue

Once you submit your next 1-year extension, apply for re-entry permit. It will have the same date with your under-consideration stamp. You can leave and back before this time is up.

Your immigration office might have home visit or witness interviews during under-consideration period. And you sure don't want to miss it if they do. To prevent this happen, be sure you bring your ticekts (the best is a round-trip tickets with dates on them) and itinerary with you and tell about your schedule out of Thailand. They might adjust the schedule in some cases.

thanks very much for the info, luckily immigration know us well over the years so hopefully they wouldn't use this as an excuse for a visit. Thank again
