Be careful on your way to the Airport. If there are any police check points on the way your passport might get inspected, especially if you're on a bus. If that does happen, just hold up the ID page and smile. That may well be all they want to see.

They've got some funny old squirrels in the various Amphur offices around the country! Our marriage registration took 3 DAYS of going back and forth every day to find that the Balat (Amphur section boss) wanted different things each day. First I had the 'wrong type of visa' then it was something about my wife's house registration, then it was because she was from another province which apparently 'made it more difficult'.

Turns out all he wanted was a bottle of whisky! If he'd told me that on day one we would've been done and dusted right there and then! Hey ho, that was 7 years ago now but yeah, squirrels!

Showing the £ to ฿ rate? And then add a note on the statement itself? I mean, if it were me, I could show either a UK bank statement or a Thai bank statement, but I'm thinking that a Thai bank statement isn't something a genuine tourist would have.

Just out of curiosity, if showing a bank statement (to support a Tourist Visa application) in £ Sterling, how would the "Others must state the converted sum and rate" part work? Would you just write it on the statement yourself?
