I paid $280, note you might have to show a return ticket at Immigration Bangkok, however they didn't ask me for it and I got a refund back from Singapore airlines
should be ok as long as you have a visa for entry, I did the same thing and just got it sorted via one of the many visa companies here once I arrived, don't panic and enjoy Thailand.
