TLDR : Answer Summary
The post lacks specific details about the traveler's purpose for staying in Thailand and the type of visa they intend to apply for, which are crucial for determining the necessary documents from the Thai embassy. The comments include suggestions to contact the embassy directly for accurate information, other users' experiences, and some humor regarding the situation.

Serious answer is you can go to Thailand if you have a valid reason ! Not holiday. All other visas are open for you to apply. Once in Thailand i would advise you to use a agency (grace) she can get you 1 year visas

Check with Thai Ambasy. Dont ask all Bimbo on line
John, I am waiting to travel to Thailand also. It's no use thinking of travelling in the near future. Thailand is way behind in tackling covid19. I estimate two years before unrestricted travel is possible to Thailand. You will need Visa's, a ninety day visa to go out there on then after 60 days go to thai immigration and apply for an extension for a year. You'll need money in a thai bank, £20,000, or approximately £1650 per month going into your thai bank account. The best and only place to ask is the thai embassy. Give them a call.

120 odd comments and, unless I've missed it, the OP hasn't told us what visa he will be applying for. Pretty impressive chaps.

Ask the Ambasy. Do you understand that ? Istead of asking a lot bimbos on this line !!!!
well out with your numbers there. Upto 19th April 571,825 had their first jab and 95,000 were fully vaccinated. Slow for sure but not close to your numbers 😂
Yeh slow at reacting to the vaccines for sure that’s why I’m happy being back in the U.K. for a few months. Got my first jab, 12th June for my second and then I’ll be off again
Sorry but I read today on Thai visa differently but whose counting I think unless they start soon it could escalate the same as India I personally am thinking of going back to the UK for 6 months.
I only quoted figures from a trusted site Thai visa if the figures are wrong then take it up with them .and if you want to laugh at me I will gladly send you my address so you can do so face to face ok
I came back last month and I’m glad I did tbh. Things almost feel normal here now. I’ll go back to Thailand in October when things are hopefully better
strange logic. The Thai embassy in London is the Thai embassy. The fact that it has different departments or even different floors seems irrelevant. Im sure the sign on the door says embassy.
If you're over 50 you can get a tourist visa, then once in Thailand get a 90 days Non-O visa based on age over 50, then a visa extension for 1 year. Alternatively you can get a Non-OA visa for 1 year from your embassy, requirements are different though.
Sean Paul Scarbrough you mean the one you can get within Thailand? It's called Non-O based on age over 50, valid 90 days and can be extended multiple times for 1 year at a time.
You get a Visa from the Thai Embassy / Consulate. These Days mostly done online initially. Then there are things like Covid test or Vaccination Records, apply for a Certificate of Entry - COE. There may still be a 7 to 10 day or longer Quarantine in a authorized hotel.

You need nothing much from the British Embassy - except a passport from what ever division of the British Government issues them.

What about UK citizen going from Thailand to the UK ?
getting rather used to dirty looks and ppl moving out of my way as if I'm the virus. In a way its funny. I used to think thais were smart ppl. Now I just see sheep
I have had the same. I have had to use the MRT a lot recently and I see many Thais moving their seats when I sit next to them.
Two weeks ago there were 2 empty seats next to me and 4 schoolkids got on,2 girls and 2 boys about 14 or 15. One boy pointed to the seats and said to the girls 'sit down; and one airhead girl said 'farang na glua' (scared of farang or farang scary).
WTF? I didn't bother saying anything because you can't can't fight total ignorance with logical reasoning here. So I spread myself out! :-D
so sad. 🐑.. I never realised this place was so ".........". Can't express the correct word, which is sad in its own right. Bless you brother. I'm here for my wife everyone else can go fck.
Sorry for those people they might scare covid 19 too much most of thai family are running out of Money and obviously Thai hospital doesn't heal for free so they have a right to aware
If my comments make you feel uncomfortably so i am apologize 🙏
oh and on the FERANG tax topic. My wife gets covid insurance 500 baht for 1 year. ME 4,500 BAHT 3 MONTHS. I'm no mathematical expert but this is just wrong. 🙏
my father died in January from "covid",and I had to rush here(before everywhere was "LOCKED DOWN AGAIN"to be with wife for our BABY who is due today. But no sign of labour yet. You don't have to apologise. I feel sorry for those who follow tv(NEWS ETC, and believe everything.) I LOVE THE THAI CULTURE, BUT IF I WASN'T MARRIED AND ABOUT TO BE A FATHER I DON'T THINK I'D CONE HERE ON HOLIDAY, AND THE STORIES I HERE ABOUT WESTERNERS HAVING TO PAY 500BAHT TO ENTER PUKET(BUT THAI ARE FREE), not helping tourism. I could say a lot lot more, but not on here. FERANG TAX HAS INCREASED 10 FOLD SINCE LAST MARCH WHEN I WAS HERE LAST. I HAVE BEEN HERE NOW SINCE JANUARY, AND DON'T REALLY HAVE THE SAME RESPECT FOR THAI PEOPLE AS I HAD. THIS IS JUST HOW I FEEL. BLESS YOU🙏
