Hi I’m in Pattaya now on an O visa and want to know if there is any chance I could renew it two months early because I need to travel back to England soon?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether they can renew their Non-O visa in Pattaya two months early because they need to travel back to the UK. Responses from the community suggest that typically, renewals can only be done one month before expiration, but some immigration offices may accept applications as early as 45 days. There are anecdotes of exceptions being made under certain circumstances, especially with proof of travel and valid reasons. Others recommend applying for a new visa in the UK as an option.

They totally have discretion to allow it above the table not under the table.
Sadly (mostly for you) the bad thing is once you start down that slippery slope with those shifty "special price for you" passport stamping, paper-pushing officers you're gonna find it really hard to get back above the table and push your own paper without paying the "special price" :(

okay I have personally seen the immigration offices make an exception to their "30 day or less rule" for new extensions.
IF you show up with proof of your flight out AND proof you're not gonna be back until after your current extension expires AND you have a valid reason as to why you're leaving.
I had a friend get a new yearly extension 87 days early :O because she had proof she was leaving before the extension expired, and wouldn't be back until after it expired AND showed why she was traveling. We were denied by the first officer, but she told us to to file an appeal in writing and a day later we got called to go back and get the extension.
So at least I know it CAN be done.
You're out nothing by trying and you're out nothing by telling the first officer who says no you can't do it, that you want to file an appeal in writing.
thanks that’s most helpful as I have new grandchildren to see at home also get my Covid jabs and then come back here to stay for retirement and have a few pension things to sort out back in the Uk. Things are different than normal now and hope I get a good immigration officer later today
my Thai girl is not Tattooed and definitely not a bar girl. As she says she speaks good unlike most bar girls. Not from issan either. Educated from near Bangkok
yeah ok, if you say so :O Still, she's not gonna be helfpful at immigrations AND due to the brainwashing thaiz get from birth to blindly take anything a thai in a govt uniform says as gospel (even if the person telling them is pulling the answer out of their arse) :O she's actually a liability going in.
What she knows about visas and extensions I can put in a teaspoon and still over sugar my coffee.
I once took a retired Police Officer who had a couple under his command transfer to Immigration as a whitntess to my marriage Just in case I needed a marriage visa however turns out he was not needed as they accepted my paper work for extension based on retirement. However my Visa was processed with the speed of light.
totally agree and that was the point I was trying to make unless they look up to who you bring , instead of down, unless to bring a Thai.

Some immigration offices allow you to apply as early as 45 days before your expiration date. Even if Pattaya is not one of those offices I don't think it would hurt to visit the office in person and ask if they would make an exception for you because of your travel plan. The worst that can happen is that they will say no.

Then you have to start the process again when you return. Personally Inwould not leave until I renewed my O Visa. Who knows what it will be like when you return.
If you come back before end of August you can still keep your allowed stay with a re-entry visa to get before leaving Thailand. Then you'll ask for an extension when you're back.
