Chris, as much as I respect the US Embassy, at the end of the day, Thai Immigration has the final say. And it doesn't take long to live in Thailand to understand that what is said or stated by one government official, does not hold true for others. Certainly wishing you the best of luck.

There is alot of talk going on now about the O-Visa changing, but as usually it's just "talk", this country doesn't even have a government and is being administered by a caretaker PM. What ever changes take place with the O-Visa will be minimal if at all. Go for it
