Semantics Lloyd with the terminology! The post is obvious in its meaning to everyone except some people who are so pedantic and prefer to engage in replies like you instead of just answering the question. Retirement or over 50’s visa or what ever you want to pedantically call it, just read those people who answered the question without all the semantics and English interpretations etc, but just replied because they knew what the author intended with his post. I didn’t think my reply to you was rude, however… you have the word Moderator under your name 🤔

People can live there under a “Retirement Visa” and subsequent extensions- but still a retirement visa as stated in the post, and may never require a re entry permit. But when you decide to leave Thailand and come back you need to purchase either a single or a multi re entry permit valid for 12 months. The re entry permit is not an automatic right. If there on a retirement visa and or subsequent yearly extensions, everyone needs to have a re entry visa before you leave the country, and this is solely what the post is about.
