All airlines will have a fee to change the start date, but any good airline will not charge to change the return date. Check with the airline, but even if they do have a fee, it’s usually something like $50.
Yes, this it the correct answer, so basically it is up to your plans. Simple math = if you only plan to leave/return one time vs. several trips. Myself, I have always gotten the multi-entry stamp at immigration.
