You can put a flight you may take, does not have to be booked. The 500k needs to be in a personal bank account.

How do I apply for a visa in Thailand with a zero-hour contract and freelance income from abroad?

You are fine to apply, the DTV is made to include freelancers, contract workers. Other zero hour contracters have been approved, there are posts by limited income online teachers who have got approved. There is no minimum income requirement, you have 20K quid and proof of income so you are good to apply.
