What is the process and timeframe for applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Brussels or Paris?

Hey everyone! 👋

Has anyone here applied for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) from Brussels or Paris? I’d really appreciate some insight.

I meet all the main requirements except that I don’t yet have the 500,000 THB seasoned for 6 months. My apartment sale finalizes next week, and once that’s done I’ll have well over 500,000 THB in my account. My monthly income is solid, and my parents are also willing to include a sponsorship letter with an account showing more than the required amount.

I plan to include my professional portfolio, social media presence, and music royalty income statements as proof of my ongoing work and financial stability. I also have a long-term condo lease in Bangkok (I stayed about 5 months this year on a tourist visa), which I’ll attach as supporting evidence.

👉 Questions:

* How long does it usually take to get the visa approved?

* Would you recommend applying through Brussels or Paris?

* And does anyone know if they’re getting stricter about the 6-month fund requirement?

I’m hoping to apply as soon as possible before any potential policy changes. Thanks a lot in advance for any advice or recent experiences! 🙏

Thank you Andi, just wanted the add the sponsorship as a backup in case it wasnt sufficient. This is amazing news. Im also hearing a lot of people saying they will scratch the DTV so Im panicking a bit. Is there some truth to that?

One last thing, would you recommend me getting an agent or simply do it myself and include English translations attached of all the documentation + cover letter?

You are working and have more than enough in savings so they would not accept the sponsorship. Sponsorship is for dependents and spouses. There are likely to be some changes to the DTV, especially for the Softpower option but it is very unlikely DTV is going to be stopped. A lot of rumors but best to ignore and apply. Bonne chance!

Yes, I have no Thai clients either. It’s all through Music royalties (Spotify / Youtube, etc) and I have statements showing the sources too

That's good, you have everything you need for the DTV.

No need to show some travel / health insurance? I read that somewhere but the information is a bit confusing :)

Thibaut BernardNo need to show any insurance for the DTV. You can self translate docs to English and include the original. No need to use an agent, you meet the requirements for the Workcation DTV you just need to show it on paper it's good to include a cover letter.

You are able to support yourself so no sponsorship is required. Six months seasoning of the 500k is not required in Paris/Brussels. You can find posts in the threads from DTVERS who applied in those cities. Paris is hit and miss with approval can take upto a month some have got it quicker.
