People keep recommending using agents, which is of course illegal but immigration turn a blind eye as they are receiving funds each time. However, there may come a time when someone decides it is not good practice to help farang break the law, end result being deportation. To me it is not worth the risk, just my opinion.

Guido Corner I have since 15 Years NON O-A but i dont have the Thai insurance.

So i need an agent since last year.

Before they accepted my foreign insurance. So why state this?

Guido Corner Insurance: Mandatory health insurance covering at least 40,000 THB for outpatient and 400,000 THB for inpatient treatment (for O-A visas). O-A not O.

Guido Corner non OA is for applying outside of Thailand.

Guido Corner You don't need insurance if you are applying in Thailand. I have it but i don't need it for my visa.

Guido Corner or do it yourself, free, just 1,900thb for the visa. Never understood the need for an agent when it is so easy to do yourself.

John Crapper 29 years ago i was working so no need of a statement. I have been retired for the last nearly 8 years. A statement used to be 100thb now it is 200thb.

John Crapper Not true. I use a local SCB bank as it is closer than the one i originally opened 29 years ago, never a problem. 200thb and statement and letter done in about 20 minutes.
