Not possible to do it online, the site takes you to the application process to find out what country you are in and lets you know where to go in person and what is needed. Applications by post stopped at least 8 years ago. They won't even post it to you when it arrives, it has to be picked up in person.

Gov.uk has all the information on how to do it yourself including prices. Maybe people here can recommend an agent then you can find out the prices as it may depend on where you are in Thailand.

11-12 weeks for the passport to arrive and can be up to 3 weeks for the appointment to put in the passport (10 days wait for me when I did it in March) so don't forget to add that on too. Or I do believe that their are quicker appointments for a fee.

I had this, it showed I was overstayed so asked about it at immigration and they just said never mind you will have to report.in person for 90 days report 😒

I did this once many years ago, got a re-entry permit and checked with immigration so it would be best to speak the them.

Sometimes it is because they are paranoid that you will use his ID to get credit on things, make it clear he can write across the copy of it that it is for immiagration purposes only. I had a landlord the same buy gave it when I said they could write that on it.
