Anonymous participant doesn't matter if you apply under Muay Thai or remote worker you are still considered a tax resident on day 181. How that works or is enforced is unknown.

@Paul ******
it's been all over the place for months but hopefully the implementation of the e-visa in more countries will streamline it somewhat.

there is no official period. It's a multiple entry visa so you could probably just turn around and re-enter same day. I say a few days because it doesn't make sense to me to pay to travel to another country, pay for a visa for just a few hours.
Helen ********
I don't think anyone did it yet, some people were asking for one but everyone else said to wait until the visa had been around longer. The embassies and consulates have been constantly changing the requirements and documentation requested so it would be hard to maintain.

it can be extended in country for another 180 days but no one knows how that will work yet. Most people plan on leaving at 180 and coming back after a few days.

Anonymous participant entirely depends on your passport. Post in a Cambodia group or speak to someone there.

Every country can change visa types, entries, requirements at any time and there is never a guarantee that they will honour prior visa conditions. From when the visa first started in July to now, embassies have tightened requirements and it entirely depends of where you apply and what category as to what you need to provide. No one has any real idea of what potential extensions will look like, or even cost, at this point so all the comments regarding that are just pure speculation. You also need to consider if how this will impact any potential tax situation, if your country has a tax treaty, etc.

If you want to move to Thailand, or anywhere really, those are things you need to accept and work with. So can you trust it? Meh impossible to say 🤷‍♀️. Can you work with the potential of changes? Up to you...

Would highly recommend that you live here for a while first before you totally uproot your life.

Someone posted, within the past few weeks, they applied in Vietnam e-visa and left Vietnam before the DTV was issued. They were asked for additional information and additional proof they were in Vietnam. Some embassies clearly state you must be in the country until your DTV is issued, so you need to be aware they can deny if you can't provide proof.
Helen ********
Yes, just show your passport and a copy of your DTV and you'll get your 180 days.
Helen ********
Really easy. There is a section on the e visa page when selecting DTV e-visa, a drop down down that shows dependant. Select that and submit a copy of your DTV, the marriage license, proof of funds and anything else the embassy you apply at requests.
