hyperbole, but the target for DTV is digital nomads and anyone else using it is “supposed” to be getting the appropriate LTR.

I see your point but this a a DTV group not LTR group we are all digital nomads in here on travel visas hence the DTV group. So anyone in the DTV applicable segment - just don’t bother with Thai banks , stop over in Tbilisi first grab some cards and 11% while you’re at it and then hop over to Thailand . It’s literally a day trip and you can still stay tax free globally capable with payment processing. All boxes checked. LTR on. Pension wouldn’t normally be on the DTV group, not applicable comment for them.

oh probably, but aren’t most expats here of the same path? Everyone has to have money to stay here any full length of time or just be over 50 and maybe that is the trouble living on a pension I could see that being trouble. I don’t run into this people very often on my definite goals Xpat Lux bubble where everything takes cards in the major cities. Guilty

I don’t have long term visa I only spend 4-5 moths a year here . I live in Dubai and bounce Thai/ kula lumpour / nam . Powerd by Apple Watch . I own Bigwifi.ca. I applied for DTV last year but was rejected for middle name missing 🙄

hasn’t been a problem for me though , I rarely use cash at all my cards seem to work everywhere just fine I pay everything with my Apple Watch probably 90% and even my rent a water bills I just transfer with my wise account. It’s really a nonissue that why I wonder why anyone else can’t get by like I can. It just seems that for all the stress just to be able to pay the odd thing with QR code or not go in person, oh well. So two time a year you have to go in person to a government office to pay a thing ….like you don’t have the time.

there’s more too it then that but just the business yes about that . You also need to prove your tax residency which is going to cost more depending on what country you’re from . Like rent a condo in Dubai stay 91 days to get the tax certificate etc.

Tip- if you’re a UAE business owner you can pay yourself with directors fees and they are not taxable in Thailand under the Tax treaty no matter how long you stay in Thailand .

Same thing to me exactly like I bumped the key beside the enter key … 20,000 baht in paid Vancouver. Was a blessing tough the LTR is way better I don’t know why anyone bothers with the DTV really for all the headache it seems. Look up LTR and there’s another one you can just buy straight out no hassle for like 20k 10 years done .
