The TM.30 is where your landlord registers you as staying at their property. Every hotel you check in to will automatically register you in the TM.30 database when you check in.

When you file your 90 day report, they will want the address you are staying at registered in the TM.30 database. If you don't have an official TM.30 receipt in your passport, or a copy of the last registration from the online booking system with you, they may want you to get an official TM.30 receipt before you do your 90 day report.

I believe the TM.28 is for extensions if stay and doesn't apply in your case. There is no firm or paperwork to do a 90 day report.

Oh, and be sure to get there before 15:30 with all the correct documentation. They stop issuing queue numbers at 15:30.

You need to meet the requirement every year, but how can change. For example, year 1, 800K in Thai bank, year 2 income letter from embasy, year 3 combination of the two, year 4...

I wasn't in the room to see exactly how it played out. I think if they paid they could continue. If not, then they'd have to come back a different day to sort it out. I'm just speculating here.

Form is free to file within 24 hours, Jomtien charges 1600฿ fine if you don't.

That's the form, upper right hand corner says TM 30 in Thai.

And Phuket is being very serious about it, if you leave the island, when you come back you have to report.

I should add one more observation. There were numerous foreigners in there, some were bitching about this, or that, or whatever.

The Thai staff were all friendly and smiling. Even when they were dealing with a difficult foreigner, you know the ones that give foreigners a bad name, they just quietly proceeded with the task at hand.

It was a very pleasant experience, not factoring in the waiting time, except for the few annoying foreigners that I had to tune out.

I had no TM.30 receipt in my passport, but I had a letter from the hotel I've been staying at on official letterhead, (one of the larger hotels), and they didn't question anything, they didn't look at anything else, once they saw the letter they just quickly processed my form, assuming the hotel did their part.
