So you applied when you were out of country and now are in Australia or are you not yet in Australia?

So different people at the embassy review and approve the visas. The first review is to ensure all your paperwork is there. Whoever did this review saw that you sent screenshots and asked for pdf copies. This does not mean that your other documents were reviewed and “approved” or agreed to. Once you sent the pdf versions, your application was probably handed off to someone to formally review. At that stage, for some reason, it was rejected

Not sure why it is confusing. You need to show you have a digital nomad job, which some embassies require proof of payment. You showing payment slips from another job, which isn’t a digital nomad job, isn’t usually what they want. You can try and see what happens. Maybe it works, but good chance it doesn’t

as you know every embassy is different and they change what is required overtime. When I applied, I had letter from HR and also show pay slips. It sounds like your wife might not have any pay slips, so that could (or not) be an issue.

Since you state your course starts next week, they will want to see a ticket that arrives before the start date. However, it is also a little suspect that you just applied 45 minutes earlier but your departure details are already wrong.

My apologies, what is the remote work your wife will be doing from Thailand? It seems like she will be in between jobs. The letter you supply needs to state she has a job, she can do the job remotely and she can do it from Thailand. If she is leaving her job in Canada, I assume they won’t supply her that type of letter. Also, it sounds like her job with the university of Malaysia requires her to be in Mtaylasia, but that they are offering her the job far out. Will they write her a letter stating she can work remote from Thailand?

Anonymous participant - You asked a question and people answer. If you want answers from the embassy then try asking them. What he is referring to is the many others who have responded about their experience (you can search) here. They have asked some applicants to buy something local and take a photo of the receipt with the date and location of the shop, have had them take photos of themselves in the city and supply the time stamps, etc. this isn’t all applicants, but some. Not aware of any other embassies doing this, except in Vietnam.

If you look at each consulate/embassy’s website, it lists the provinces that it supports. Vietnam is split into two, with those located in half of the provinces told to apply via HCMC and those in the other half told to apply via Hanoi. This is all laid out in detail on their websites. Nothing complicated and nothing to do with people being scared or afraid.

Only if they call you in for an interview, do you need to go to the consulate
