not necessarily. It depends on where they got married. If they got married in another country, they could use that marraige certificate as long as it is translated into thai or english. Best would be to speak to the Royal Thai Consulate in HCMC. They are very helpful
welcome. It would be best if you contact the Embassy and ask them for the latest list of documents required. You never know, something could have changed!;)
, thanks for your help. It is easier for me to get a non o from Savannakhet or hcmc. I've been to immigration 3 times already, to get a list of docs required for the extension of stay. I was given, on The three occasions, a printed out in Thai! My wife does speak English, but sometimes it is difficult for her to explain correctly. So, I'm presume that I would be coming and going to immigration a couple of times before they accept my application for the extension of stay. Much easier to get another 1yr me non o from Laos or HCMC
David. Yes, I have a 1yr ME non o based on marriage at the moment, which will soon Expire. I'm checking which would be the best option for my next one. The extension of stay seems a bit complicated. Another 1 Yr ME non o based on marriage seems to be easier. Thanks all for your help
