Hi all,

I would like to apply for a marriage visa in Ho Chi Minh City. I have a certified marriage registration but not a marriage license. Does anyone know if the registration will or will not be adequate? Thank you much for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about applying for a marriage visa in Ho Chi Minh City with only a certified marriage registration but no official marriage license. Responses indicated that an official wedding certificate is required for the application, especially when married to a Thai national, and suggested confirming this information with the Thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City before proceeding.

Thanks everyone, especially Tod for putting the contact info literally right under my index finger. I will share my findings. BTW, yes I am married to a Thai woman.

I'd sure call FIRST before winging all the way there and NOT being able to get the visa

Are you married to a Thai? You need the rose border certificate before you can apply for a Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai.

not necessarily. It depends on where they got married. If they got married in another country, they could use that marraige certificate as long as it is translated into thai or english. Best would be to speak to the Royal Thai Consulate in HCMC. They are very helpful

No, you need an official wedding certificate.
