Hi all.

I am coming to the end of my 1 Year Non O multiple entry visa based on marriage to a Thai national. The visa is expiring on 30th September. I am going to be doing my bounce during mid September. Am I right in thinking if I exit Thailand and re enter before the date of expiry I will receive a further 90 days ?

After those 90 days are coming to an end I will be flying to HCMC to apply for another Non O - I would also just like to check the following documents required are :

Marriage certificates

House book

Wife's ID card

is there anything I'm missing?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is nearing the end of their 1-Year Non-O multiple entry visa, expiring on September 30. They plan to exit Thailand in mid-September and re-enter before the expiry to receive an additional 90 days. They are also preparing to apply for a new Non-O visa in Ho Chi Minh City and inquired about necessary documents, including marriage certificates, house book, and wife's ID card. Commenters provided additional documentation advice, including a handwritten letter from the wife and extra tips on the visa extension process.

U get 15 months from a Multy entry visa based on marriage so just before your 12 months is up go to maisai and back into Thailand with another 90 days = 15 months. Bish bosh, end of, sorted

Remember after you do that last bounce just before the visa itself expires to get the last 90 days (which takes you to 15 months of stay) you could also get a 60 day visit family extension for 1900baht at the immigration office (taking you to 17 months) if you wanted to

Also that letter should be addressed to the HCMC thai consulate and can be hand written from your wife,

It' just nees to state; her (name & thai i/d number) is married to you (name & passport number) and requests that the consulate issue you a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage.

One last thing is remember that the thai consulates in Vientnam ONLY take US dollars and ones in PRISTINE condition.

I think you might be confusing things.

The year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa doesn't let you stay IN thailand, it lets you apply to get in for a specific number of days. (in the case of a non-O visa 90 days each entry). It's the 90 day entry stamp that lets you stay IN thailand.

AND

if you bounce out and back in just before the expiration date on the non-O VISA itself you'll get a final 90 days (that lets you stay in thialand PAST the expiration date of the visa).

You can apply for a 60 day visit family extension on ANY of those 90 day entries when you have 30 days or less left on the entry stamp. (NOTHING to do with the validity of the visa itself at all)

@S**
, nope there is no proof of funds required when you get the 60 day visit thai family extension at the immigration office..

Appreciate the excellent advice Tod. Thank you.

If I do go to immigration to extend to the visit family 60 day extension , will I be required to show them proof of funds?

And that needs to be applied for before the current Non O visa I'm on expires?

the letter has to be hand written, and in Thai. I had typed out the letter in english, and they did not accept it, rightly so!

A hand written letter by your wife, photocopy of your passport and passport photos

welcome. It would be best if you contact the Embassy and ask them for the latest list of documents required. You never know, something could have changed!;)
