Hi asking for some advise regarding transfer of visa.

I'm currently holding a non-o imm multiple entry visa based on marriage. I am from Singapore and the visa is issued from the thai embassy in Singapore.

My passport is expiring in May 2020 as I have received a letter indicating that I need to get a new passport as most countries need six mths validity.

Now my question is that I am applying a new passport in Thailand and it will take 3-4weeks before I receive it.

Once I receive the new passport how do I transfer the visa over? My visa expires in Dec 2020

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process to transfer a Non-O visa to a new passport involves carrying both your old and new passports to the immigration office. You need to inform them of your new passport and provide a letter from your embassy stating the passport has been issued. The visa itself does not get transferred, as it was issued by a consulate and must remain in the old passport, which should be kept with you while traveling.

Okay if you get a new passport BUT have VISA <- a sticker from a thai consulate in an old passport you travel withe BOTH passports until the visa in the old one expires,. They will stamp you in and out on the new one BUT you will show the old one because even though that passport is not valid for travel the VISA is still good in it.

When u get the new pasport... singapore side can officially chop on your new pasport that the

Holder of this pasport previously held pasport number SXXXXXXX#

then when ever u travel.. carry both pasport for the purpose of the thai immigration ...so long as there is continuity ..you should not have any major issues

All easy .....no Problem , ...take both to the Next Imigration to inform them that you have a New Passport , bring the New letter from your Embassy that you have a New Passport done, you get a stamp that the New One is registered......finished ....

The multiple entry doesnt get transferred over, as it is a visa given by a consulate, not immigration in thailand. So you sill need to carry both passports with u.

If you bring the passport to ICA the holes will be punched at the bio page.
