Get your dicks on a nice Row. Non O Visa online from your home Royal Thai Embassy. Mine was in my inbox within 24 hours. Open your Thai bank account with that Visa. Deposit your 800K or so in your new account. A week or so before your Thai Visa is up use an agent. This is not a new Visa it is an extension. 12-15,000Baht each Visa. 15months all in. For your first 12 month visa I really would recommend an agent. After that do it yourself.

Agent. Assuming you each have a Thai Bank accounts. Without which it gets difficult but not impossible. Just very expensive and weary.

Good luck 👌

Chris Nadon - That is exactly what my wife and I happened to do. As I believed (mistakenly) that our Visa was valid for 12 months. Not 90 days. Bit of a shock when we rocked up to 90 day reporting to find it was about to expire.!

It is classed as an extension, not a new Visa.

Handed off to an agent, done and dusted in 48 hours. 12,000 per each for a Non O retirement Visa.

15 months from entry to expiry all told. However, we each had Thai Bank accounts. Without them it gets seriously expensive.

Stephen Morris I have no idea. They promised to send me stuff. I received nothing. There was also an issue of paying up my contributions to enhance my pension. I believe that you can get ahead of the game. Claim your pension as soon as the system allows, or defer it. Which of course is for you to decide on.

A phone call to their dedicated International number. By far the best way todo it. Mine was due in July and I was paid it in late December. Depends on whoever the agent is. Sometimes helpful and efficient. Sometimes not.

I would not advise trying to be smart with DWP, you need to accept that living here WILL freeze your pension. Any due back payment can be either a lump sum or spread over your pension payment. Your choice. Your pension will follow on your designated payment date which relates to your NI number. You will receive a letter shortly after explaining your entitlement.

Firstly, know why you need it. Secondly not all offices are the same. Some charge, some don’t.

Some want photo’s some don’t. Fees differ, or zero.

Inform why you need it.

Drivers licence(s)

Bank account

Buying or selling a motorcycle or Car.

You need:

TM30 Counterfoil

Copy of Partners ID if co-habiting on their home.

Better still take her/him with you.!

Two passport photo’s

Passport

200-500 baht fee

Some offices insist on one prior 90 day report

Complete the application form.

Copy the ID pages of your passport.

Copy the last entry stamp.

Copy your visa

Valid for 30 days. Done 🙂

It makes no sense not to extend your Visa before your trip. Because your extension will be stamped to March 5th regardless.

Significantly Delayed or cancelled flight or the unexpected happens, you could be screwed.

My advice is this. If you are not an experienced Biker. Leave well alone.

Unless your home is someplace rural. The roads are lethal, not Policed and it is a free for all. Rules. There is an assumption Stateside to best abide by (most) of them, or face the consequences for non compliance. There are few consequences in Thailand, and us Farangs have an ingrained mindset and seriously vulnerable.

Buy a truck. Live longer - You win - they lose. 😬
