It will vary on the amount you transfer - but typically, for
*****
baht, about £445, I will pay £5 fee (i.e. £400 plus £5 making £445)

they accept deposits into Thai Bank - which is what I do from UK bank.

I am unsure about sending money out from Thailand as never had to do it.

I personally do not know of any exchange places which accept lightly soiled, dirty, torn or Written-On notes…. Exchange places are very particular.

Thankfully, now I have a Thai Bank Account, I can do it all electronically using services such as wise.com … highly recommended👍🏻

Unless your Thai Wife is actually giving the instructions…??? A bit of a grey area, but many foreigners do this

only went by the info given to me last week in Chiang Mai at the Immigration Office….

I guess, as is common in Thailand, the rules differ from office to office🤦🏻‍♂️

You will need a TM30 (if staying at a Hotel, they should be able to provide a copy of this for you…or the owner of the property if a private rental… can be done online).

Then turn up to immigration, fill in the form, and have 1900baht per person.

You will need 1 original Passport Photo (to stick on the form you will complete at immigration - they usually supply the glue, one copy of your passport photo id page and one copy of the page containing your Entry stamp into Thailand.

You can apply any time within 15days of expiry of your permitted stay and an additional 30 days will be awarded.

If you overstay, you can still request an extension but you will

Pay a fine on top, and your extension will be less your existing overstay period.

My understanding is that you can only have 2 extensions in a rolling 12 months, but you can leave and re enter Thailand. By air gives you 30 days. By land gives you 15 days…

no they are not. There are Manned immigration desks next to the e-gates, primarily for people who’s passports won’t scan at the e-gate… anyhow, you can go straight to these Manned desks, bypassing the e-gate Queue. I’ve done it couple times.

thank you for your answer….

If in the future my Wife and I have a child in the UK, and our child wanted dual citizenship (British / Thai) but already held a British passport, then our child would follow the TM10 process based on my wife being Thai in order to obtain a Blue Thai ID card….?
David ******
Yes.

And in UK, your wife can accompany you on her Thai Passport through UK Passport queue when you are travelling together.

Not sure about other nations though - sorry…
