Question - I recently got my Yellow Book and Thai ID Card. I am British passport holder and married to a Thai lady.

The senior man at the Amphoe said the next step is to complete of a TM10 process which would entitle me to a Blue Thai ID card (rather than my Pink one)…. I have tried to research the TM10 to understand what it is, and there is little info on tbe Net …. Can anyone shed any light please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM10 process is generally related to the registration of foreigners living in Thailand. However, to qualify for a Blue Thai ID card, one must be a Thai citizen, which foreigners married to Thai citizens do not automatically obtain. The Pink Thai ID card is typically for foreign residents and grants certain privileges, but it is not equivalent to full citizenship.

Bro i already got my pink id and yellow house book for 10years and the truth is unless you a thai you get the blue. For your pink id is only good for traveling without passport, buy apartment or car under your name or else is useless.

You won't qualify for a blue ID until you're a Thai citizen.

The TM10 doesn't apply to you as you don't have Thai parents that bestow you Thai citizenship.

thank you for your answer….

If in the future my Wife and I have a child in the UK, and our child wanted dual citizenship (British / Thai) but already held a British passport, then our child would follow the TM10 process based on my wife being Thai in order to obtain a Blue Thai ID card….?

I have an 8 year old daughter (Thai/ British), with my Thai ex wife. When she was born, we registered her at the Thai embassy in London and got both Thai and British birth certificates and passports. We tried to renew her Thai Passport at the Thai embassy a few months ago. They informed us that now she is over 7 years of age, we have to take her back to Thailand and put her on her mum's Tabian Baan and get her Thai ID card before they can process her new Thai passport. I don't know if the information they gave us was correct, but I hope this helps.

based on what I read about the form, it appears that would be the method. Not entirely sure though.
