so it's come to light that if i wasn't entitled to an extension before overstayed i wont get those seven days so seems back to square one

well it was nice to find out that its a better option to go to the office if im prepared to pay an extra 1900 bht, a relief in fact

will do for sure, I plan to pay the fine, travel to Savanakhet by bus get a non o and be a good boy, hopefully with no more issues :), thanks for the response.
