Depends where you go. I’ve got better rates for £50 notes but in some places they pay the same as £20 or £10 notes

The embassy in London even told me this when the e-visas came out and I was in Thailand at the time

I fully get that but let’s say you put your home country like I always have what difference does it make?

I’m just trying to get my head around the logic.

Let’s say you are in Thailand on a TR visa and now the DTV has been announced and you are eligible why would you be made to leave the country for the duration of the application process to then enter the country again once the visa is issued when you could apply in country and then leave and reenter to activate the visa?

I’ll find the email out from the London embassy pre Covid where they said it was fine to do that for a TR visa when the E-visas were introduced.

I was told that the only reason they ask for location is to give it to an embassy to process and actually has no significance whether you are in that country or not

I don’t know about the DTV but immigration have even told me I could do the visa process in Thailand for a TR visa and then leave the country and reenter to activate. I makes absolutely no difference to them when you think about it.

What difference does it make whether you apply for the DTV inside Thailand or outside of Thailand? If you are eligible you are eligible. 🤷‍♂️

I personally don’t think Thai immigration care where you are applying for the visa as really makes no difference to them. If you are eligible then you are eligible 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen posts from people that applied whilst in Thailand and then once got the visa do leave Thailand and enter on the new visa 🤷‍♂️. I always used to do that with tourist visas if needed but they are doing it with the DTV also

No. Covid extensions were a thing. Could keep getting an extension. I know people that stayed like 1.5 years on a tourist visa 😂 And nobody was asked to leave
