They will inevitably announce that they’ll try to pretend to scrap test & go, however the past year’s experience indicates that they won’t be able to help themselves. We’ll probably end up with some fanfare and a re-named bunch of hoops to jump through. I’m in my fourth week in-country now, and signs of the persisting tourism recession are everywhere. For real economic recovery, nothing short of eliminating all pre-departure and arrival tests (for vaccinated travellers) and scrapping of any form of Thailand Pass (a source of so much uncertainty and stress that many potential visitors are scared off) will be good enough. 🤞
I plan on driving the Pai loop next month. It’ll be my first time, however several of my friends recommend it as a beautiful, scenic road trip. Enjoy. 🖖
Update - I arrived BKK a few days ago, from HKG (I’m an Australian citizen, so visa exempt). At the Immigration desk, I handed over my APEC card, and received a 90 day stamp in my passport.
I arrived in BKK tonight, and can now confirm there are two forms to complete, the T8 form and a health declaration (plus the normal arrival card). Thanks again folks.
