I know nobody will know the correct answer to this apart from the Thai government 😂 but I’m curious if anyone has heard or that is out there at the moment if test and go (test upon arrival) will be scrapped anytime soon? 😊 suppose I’m hoping for a miracle that the rules ease a bit now Cambodia has x

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers on the uncertainty surrounding the Test and Go (test upon arrival) policy in Thailand, with participants speculating about potential changes. There are suggestions that it could be scrapped as early as April or May, while others express skepticism about the government's willingness to remove restrictions completely due to ongoing economic considerations and health variants. Some comments highlight a reliance on existing processes rather than a full removal of testing requirements.
They can’t scrap PCR on arrival. They advised lots of organisations to buy kits that they could make a huge profit on. Until they are all used (yes even the date expired ones) there will still be a requirement.

They will inevitably announce that they’ll try to pretend to scrap test & go, however the past year’s experience indicates that they won’t be able to help themselves. We’ll probably end up with some fanfare and a re-named bunch of hoops to jump through. I’m in my fourth week in-country now, and signs of the persisting tourism recession are everywhere. For real economic recovery, nothing short of eliminating all pre-departure and arrival tests (for vaccinated travellers) and scrapping of any form of Thailand Pass (a source of so much uncertainty and stress that many potential visitors are scared off) will be good enough. 🤞

There is a meeting today about it.
Its all speculation though some are saying test & go will be scrapped 1st of April or 1st May.
Yes i prefer the way Vietnam is doing it and just provide the test 72 hours before flight. The test on arrival can still end up stuck in covid hell.
Dont think its a scam as such the Hotels dont make a lot, the hospital and testing facilties do though just Thai goverment logic its what happens when people have bought there way into positions rather than got there on merit
