You can definately be asked by both airline and thai immigration on visa exempt. Its their discretion if they do or dont. Just because some havent been asked doesnt mean you wont be

its true a little bit. Ive been asked to show onward travel within 60 days on one occassion so you need to be ready to deal with it at check in. Took.a good 5-10 mins before they allowed me to check in

immigration no problem, its the airline at check in who are obliged to check before allowing you to board

you either get lucky when you check in or you book a cheap throw away ticket to malaysia within 60 days

Thanks all. The reason i ask is that now it is 60 days not 30 i guess they are trying to stop over abuse. This is the site i got the info from
