Hello. Uk passport holder. Im coming to Phuket for 7 month in October. Is it best to get a Special Tourist Visa or is a Multiple Entry Tourist a better option ?. Are border bounces readily available now id flights in and out of Kuala Lumpar etc ?. Any advice welcome !. Thanks. David

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder planning a 7-month stay in Phuket should consider getting a 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) from the Thai consulate in their home country, rather than the Special Tourist Visa (STV), which is set to expire soon. The METV allows for border runs every 60 days, potentially permitting up to 9 months of stay if timed correctly. Currently, border crossings, such as flights in and out of Kuala Lumpur, are available, except for land borders with Burma, which remains closed.
The STV program is set to run out Sept 30th, and there is no indication it will be renewed, IN FACT people who are here on an STV are not getting their 90 day extensions like normal, just an extension to Sept 30th
GET a 6 month METV from the thai consulate in your country and bounce out and back every 60 days. You can get almost 9 months of stay out of that visa if you time the bounces right
NO issue flying out and in or exiting/re-entering by land borders (except with burma which is still closed to entry by land)
